Monocrotophos Application
| |
Monocrotophos is a fast-acting systemic and contact insecticide and acaricide of short persistence used to control common mites, ticks and spiders with both contact and stomach action, quickly penetrates plant tissue.
In common with other organophosphorus, its toxic action is achieved by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, and enzyme essential for normal nerve impulse transmission.
Monocrotophos is widely used, mainly applied against cotton pests. It is used on citrus, olives, rice, maize, sorghum, sugar cane, sugar beet, peanuts, potatoes, soybeans, vegetables, ornamentals and tobacco. |
